Explore the world of watercolor with our immersive class! Whether you're a beginner or seeking to refine your skills, this class offers a unique opportunity to learn watercolor techniques and delve into the captivating practices of renowned artists. This class offers a step-by-step guide on fundamental watercolor techniques, study professional artists’ watercolor masterpieces, hands-on practice and personalized feedback from a teaching artist!

This program is sectioned into 3 four week blocks. Each block with begin by introducing fundamentals and basic skills then dive into artist studies to compliment skills practice. Artist studies will include, Block 1- Georgia O’Keefe, Block 2-Dean Mitchell, Block 3- Elizabeth Murry.

CLASS FORMAT

This class is conducted in Galveston Arts Center’s studio classroom located on the second floor of GAC. Seats are limited.


POLICIES

  • Deadline for enrollment is Feb 2. Late enrollment is permitted, however supplies are not guaranteed for late enrollees.

  • No refunds on registration fees.

  • In the rare event of GAC cancellation due to unavoidable circumstances, we will make every effort to schedule a make-up session on an alternate date.

  • Group communications are conducted through email. Please check your inbox for announcements.

DISCOUNTS
GAC Members enjoy 20% off of tuition. You must sign in with the email associated with your membership account to receive the discount. Full-time students, teachers/professors, and parents who homeschool can join at the Student/Educator level for just $30/year.

For liability reasons, please do not register a student who is a minor unless you are their parent or legal guardian.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Teachers, counsellors, etc. may nominate a student with whom they are professionally acquainted for a scholarship if they can attest to the the student’s interest in the subject and financial need. The student’s parent/legal guardian will be notified and given further instructions. You may not nominate your own child, dependent, or other close relation.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR


Te'yana Pugh is a local artist, teacher and author who pursued higher education at Texas A&M University, where she graduated with a specialization in Art and English Language Arts (ELA) education. As an advocate for education and creativity, Te'yana is committed to introducing students to the brilliance of Georgia O'Keeffe's masterpieces by offering studio classes that instill an appreciation for nature. In this program she will teach specific watercolor techniques, and allow students to experiment with the medium to produce their own unique and breathtaking artwork.
