Embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery and healing with Exhibit Connect: Rest, Restore, Repair Healing Art Workshop led by Galvestonian Tammy Fountain, a licensed professional therapist and certified art therapist.

Through guided sessions, participants will delve into the evocative works of Elizabeth Chiles's exhibit, using art as a conduit for introspection and expression. No prior experience in art or art making is necessary; all are invited to engage with the therapeutic process of creation. In this nurturing environment, individuals will explore their creativity, tapping into inner reserves of resilience and insight. By immersing themselves in the artistic process, participants will emerge feeling grounded, refreshed, and deeply connected – both to themselves and the natural world around them.

CLASS FORMAT

This class is conducted in Galveston Arts Center’s studio classroom located on the second floor of GAC.

While Tammy Fountain is a therapist, it's important to note that this workshop is not intended as therapy. However, if any participant wishes to learn more about Tammy's services through her private practice, they can easily connect by contacting GAC to be put in touch.

POLICIES

  • Deadline for enrollment is the March 25, 2024, Late enrollment is permitted however some supplies may not be available for late enrollees. Contact education director for details.

  • Participant cancellation policy: missed or cancelled classes will not be refunded.

  • In the rare event of GAC cancellation due to unavoidable circumstances, we will make every effort to schedule a make-up session on an alternate date.

  • Group communications are conducted through email. Please check your inbox for announcements.

For liability reasons, please do not register a student who is a minor unless you are their parent or legal guardian.

SCHOLARSHIPS & FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Teachers, counsellors, etc. may nominate a student with whom they are professionally acquainted for a scholarship if they can attest to the the student’s interest in the subject and financial need. The student’s parent/legal guardian will be notified and given further instructions. You may not nominate your own child, dependent, or other close relation. GAC also offers financial assistance in an effort to ensure art education stay accessible to all families. Contact GAC’s education director to learn more!
