Pay for a Day!

We know you value GAC and the services our organization provides to the community. Please consider contributing to our Pay-for-a-Day campaign. Your support is greatly needed. Our goal is to raise $100,000.000 to cover essential operations that support our education and exhibition programs.

What can your support do?
$50    Helps us provide a 90-minute art class at GAC
$100     Helps us send art teachers to 3 local schools for one week
$250 Helps us send art teachers to 6 local health and human service organizations for one week
$500 Helps us provide one youth art camp
$1000 Helps us staff one free art exhibition for three weeks
$1500 Supports one whole day of education and exhibitions operations

With your help, GAC will be able to continue to provide the following programs, which include 1400 youth interactions and impact 35,000 visitors annually!

After School Art: Free weekly art programs at select GISD public elementary and middle schools

Art for All: Free weekly art classes at seven local health and human service organizations

School Tours: Free guided tours of GAC exhibitions for student groups, often accompanied by an activity in the classroom.

Youth Art Classes: Weekly art classes at GAC for ages 6-13, offering home-school packages and scholarships opportunities.

Art Camps: Five-day immersive courses that meet for 3 hours a day during Spring Break and throughout the Summer.

Adult art classes: Ongoing topics of study including Ceramics, Printmaking, Life Drawing, and more.

Workshops: Special topics like our Exhibit-Connect series; seasonal activities like our annual Mardi Gras Mask-making party.

Lectures: Including our free annual series Conversations @ The Center featuring lively discussions with fine arts professionals.

Community events: GAC Is the founder and organizer of ArtWalk which supports local galleries, shops, and restaurants.

Exhibitions: GAC provides free admission to over twenty-one exceptional contemporary art exhibitions annually.

AMAZON WISHLIST

Like all nonprofits, GAC has ongoing needs for items like equipment, tools, storage solutions and upgraded technology.  We know how important it is to have assurance that your donation will make a real impact on someone’s life, whether it’s a teenager on scholarship learning from a professional artist, a student intern having the technology she needs to turn an idea into reality, or a tired visitor being able to rest for a moment on one of our new gallery benches.

That’s why we’ve created an Amazon Wish List. Next to each item we’ve indicated the quantity that we need, the priority, and a short description.  Any item can be shipped to the Galveston Arts Center, located at 2127 Strand, Galveston, TX 77550.

When you make a donation through our wish list and provide your name and contact information, you will receive an acknowledgement letter and our sincerest thanks!  Your wish list donation will be devoted to exempt purposes and GAC will not provide benefits or services in consideration for this gift.  GAC is a 501(c)3 organization and therefore you may claim a deduction for the fair market value of the donation to the extent allowed by law.

TANGIBLE GIFTS

GAC welcomes in-kind donations such as new or slightly used office and art supplies, tools and framing supplies. Please examine your materials carefully before contacting us. We cannot accept paper or material that has damage from mold, mildew, or “dirt” as it can pose health risks to our staff and program participants. Thank you!
