Sewing Foundations

For Adults

4 weeks beginning Oct 2 | 6 pm

Learn the essentials of sewing in this hands-on workshop designed for adults of all skill levels. You’ll gain confidence using a sewing machine while practicing foundational techniques like hemming, stitching, and finishing. Explore skills like adding appliqués, repairing garments, and customizing pieces with details like pockets or patches. This class emphasizes both practical mending and expressive making, giving you tools to extend the life of your clothes or personalize them with purpose. All materials for practice will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring garments or fabric to work on. Whether you’re new to sewing or looking to refresh your skills, this class offers a supportive space to learn and create.

Many materials will be provided for this class. Because of the unique style of each participant, some projects will require students to bring their own fabrics.
