Kristy Peet
Memories

Kristy Peet is a large format analog photographer focusing primarily on staged images conceptually related to the internal personal state. Her exhibition, Memories, considers snippets of time, mental images, small experiences, and emotions tied to specific objects. The work attempts to capture and explicate those strongest bits of memory that linger despite their level of perceived significance.

Kristy Peet was born in Dallas, TX and completed her undergraduate work at Austin College in Sherman, TX and her Master of Fine Arts in Photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, GA. Her work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions across the US including a solo exhibition at the Dallas Contemporary. Her work is in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and Savannah College of Art and Design. Peet also served seven years as Vice President of BOX13 Artspace, an artist-run exhibition and studio space devoted to the creation and advancement of experimental contemporary art in Houston. Peet lives and works in Houston, TX. She is currently Professor of Art at College of the Mainland.
