In this workshop, participants will get a taste of the festivities involved in the making and use of Taiguruma, traditional Japanese fish-shaped paper lantern on wheels. Delegates from Galveston’s sister city, Niigata, will teach the art of making their traditional lanterns. Participants will decorate prepared long strips of washi paper with paint and stickers.
