Find your Center at the Arts Center

Enjoy a visually inspired community yoga class offered once a season.  Stretch, flow, and breathe while immersed in art with Jim Turner, RYT of Texas Yoga Flow. This is an all-levels class based in the Kripalu method and is open to the public.

GAC’s beautifully remodeled historic building is the perfect place to deepen your yoga practice, with continuously changing exhibitions of original contemporary art on which to meditate.

Pre-registration is not necessary, just arrive a few minutes early to sign in. Wear comfortable clothes, and if you have a yoga mat, bring it. (A limited number of mats are provided.)

About the Class

Kripalu is a gentle hatha yoga practice with a compassionate approach. It has an emphasis on meditation, physical healing, and spiritual transformation that overflows from the yoga mat into daily life. Over time, students are taught to observe their thoughts without judging and to accept and love themselves as they are.

In a Kripalu class, each student learns to find their own level of practice on a given day by looking inward. The classes usually begin with pranayama exercises and gentle stretches followed by asana practice and ending with final relaxation.
